Yeah still waiting too, I can only imagine the people who found out there and then were maybe the last batch of assessments FGW are going to be conducting this year, so could mark right away. Only a hunch mind you. Maybe today ey :)

just received email now from FGW, I passed the telephone interview, and says they will be in touch shortly regarding booking an assessment day, so I would guess the assessments will continue for a while yet... just my 2 cents

Just got same e-mail, as I have already passed the assessments except for the CBI, which I did not sit. Not sure what will happen in my case.

This came up in another thread and the only number anyone could find (unless I am mistaken) was the central 0845 number.

You could emailing the resourcing team back on the address they emailed you from?

well my DM date was changed, Had it yesterday and I choked........... On why do you want to be a train driver believe it or not my mind went totally blank, cant get my head round what happened? I kind of stumbled my way through that and a couple of other questions I kind of just lost my way a little bit and in hindsight may well of waffled some what, but feel I answered some questions well, I have been under a lot of pressure before and been self reliant for many years now but the two gentleman who sat opposite me where very good at what they do and now know why they choose the right interviewer's to grill you, for some reason I found the DM interview the hardest part of the whole process and tougher than the CBI which when you think about it is probably right because this the final chance for them to weed out the unsuitable I just prey my life experiences and attitude to work will count in my favour I like to think I have done a lot in my working life and if it doesn't I feel genuinely upset that I have let the CBI assessor down because she put me through and I genuinely have a professional liken to her a real nice lady, Anyway I shall carry on and check my emails and wish others going through this stage too................... choke as well to give me a chance :lol: Only joking, good luck gentlemen and lady's of course I wish you all the best, PS...

Fingers crossed for you. I would say that it is potentially the hardest question to be asked... You know why you want to be a driver but the hard part is giving the answer they want you to give. Without knowing what that is!

Given the feedback on this and other forums it shouldn't be about money.... Nor that you have always wanted to be a train driver... Nor this.... Nor that.... Which leaves? Yes, a surprisingly difficult question!

I wouldn't beat yourself up about it, nerves play a big part in interviews and in particular the more important ones in your life

I agree with this, I also found the DM interview harder than the CBI, as there were 2 of them grilling you and pushing you

I failed my assessment at Bristol- gutted- so that was 3 weeks in the waiting...hope you guys have had better news!

Aye, me too. Pretty disappointed with it as I felt I'd done alright. It's just a shame there wasn't any feedback as to which part I'd failed on at least. I was on the last assessment day (3-6pm on 12th) so I would assume that if you haven't heard yet then it won't be long. Fingers crossed it will be good news for you all.

Bit of a wait for me until I can have another stab at it.

yeh I was there 12th 12-3 - I think there might be some feedback as seems to have been some posts on here in which people have highlighted the sections they have failed on but I'm not sure- although i've been applying for nearly 10 years I just wish i'd pulled out of this one as only had 11 days notice...should have held onto my two lives....

No word from them yet. I was at the Bristol centre on the 12th between 12-3 too. Hopefully I hear something very soon.

I also think we need to check out exactly which part we failed on...particularly if the proposed changes DON'T go ahead and we now have one life left....I remember reading some guys managed to find out so worth having a sniff around...

Gents (and ladies),

I understand your frustration with the waiting game - I applied in April for the Oxford depot, sat stage 1 the end of May. Never heard from First until late August that I had passed, even though one guy who took stage 1 at the same time had pretty much started his training by then. It was nothing to do with pulling the best through first as I had 2 good passes and a pass out of three (happy with that). I then sat stage 2 late August and didn't hear back from that for best part of a month. Sat my DM interview a week and a half ago and now waiting again.

It just seems that applications are marked in batches, and not always by the internal recruitment people due to chronic shortages in staff. They don't just have a team for each vacancy, they have to process everyone from cleaners to drivers at all locations. That must be a hell of a lot of paperwork when you think about it.

In short, stop moaning. It is a drawn out painful wait but calling HR every other day will just stretch them further, slowing the process for all.

Good luck to all that are still waiting, patiently :roll: :D
