yes I'm in limbo after taking stage 2 back in April, waited a long time to get pass the shortlisting, I'm sure another 8 months won't matter.
I received an email from FGW this morning saying I can expect to get my results from them within the next 7-10 days and apoligising for the delays in marking all the asessments
courses in July and September allegedly
courses in July and September allegedly
They will be runny courses throughout the year. There won't be just 2 courses
Surely they can't be still trying to fill a course starting in July?
Most people currently working will need to give at least 1 months notice.
Giving notice today would mean the start date would have to be 20th July at the earliest for some.
Or do you think the TOC's don't really care about this?
Is it a case of 'well... do you want the job or not?'
I'm slightly confused as to why they need 700 more drivers to be honest. IEP can't be adding that many more diagrams, does FGW have a lot of retirements coming up or something?
its 2 weeks in my case, however you could resign and lose out on you holiday pay and salary etc... im sure it wont be that much either way.
Well you may be correct and the suggestion that FGW will require 700 more drivers could be too high and it might only be 400 but you could have a lot of drivers retiring, moving over to HS services or moving to other TOC's.
In Bristol you have the Portishead and Henbury loop lines re-opened along with proposals for additional services to Gloucester etc
So there could be a variety of different reasons

I also went to Bristol on June 3rd. Heard back yesterday that I did not pass, but they would like to hear from me in the future. So I will try again next time !!

I keep an eye out for the trainee driver roles with FGW to be advertised but haven't got round to applying yet.
On previous vacancies I've seen locations at Bristol and Westbury. Would someone be able to tell me what routes are covered from these depots?
First only have 1200 drivers so i doubt they are taking on over 50% more staff this would also mean 600-700 guards jobs also and well its not happening
Sorry Reapz but our managers tell us different and it will indeed be 700 new drivers. As for guards don't forget a lot of our traction is driver only. I believe Driver Group 25 started 2 weeks ago and they already have slots (but not applicants) booked upto course 38 which takes us to the end of next year, so all those still waiting shouldn't have to worry yet.
But why do they need 700? There can't be that many retirements, and surely IEP can only be adding a limited number of extra diagrams per depot. Did they say why they are taking on 700?
