If you think this is bad wait until you work for them and you see how they treat their employees!

That's not really the point is it. We all have the right to withdraw our labour or as in the case of applying for a job our offer of labour. FGWs behaviour and attitude towards people who have clearly invested a lot of time by applying and going through the assessment process is just not acceptable. You say "if you don't like it remove yourself...". How about FGW start acting in a more professional manner.

Bottom line is they couldn't care less. I can only hope that one day the endless supply of hopefuls dries up and they're left with no applicants. Never going to happen of course but we can live in hope.

Unfortunately though, the truth is that it's"hopefuls" just have to sit and hope. It becomes quite a stressful situation truth be told. Last Feb when I was told them had filled all position and my app would be on hold I was gutted but it meant I could relax and get on with my life which I did. Then when I had my dm invite and sat that and put on hold for a position it makes life quite difficult. Right now me and my family are in a house we want to move out of and she's trying to get into uni but we can't do anything yet coz we don't know where we will be living and when this process will resume

I know many of u in the same position as me feel exactly the same. It's a living limbo and not much fun at all

Looks like most applicants are for Bristol. The last one was for Reading, so must be part of this IEP program and expansion?

My post that has been requoted was made several months ago since when I have been informed as to why o was not put on the course.

Anyway that aside as opposed to last year where I held back on making any commitments I am currently half way through a two week break in Tenerife.

If I get an email great, if not c'est la vie.

By the sounds of things we will start hearing very soon. I assume that courses will start at the beginning of the financial year (April) so you would expect the end of February/beginning of March to be invited for medicals. So the next 4-6 weeks can not come quick enough. Good luck to everyone who is waiting.

Rocombe 11 , basically they lost my details. Apparently a HR rep who shall remain nameless and is now no longer with the company had my details stored incorrectly. The funny thing was and is, I have never received an automated email from first, they have all been from personal email addresses, might have something to do with my application was made on there old recruitment website, so my details may have been lost in transition, I really don't know.

Had an email early last week asking me if I was still interested and what depots I would like to be based at.

Told them that I would prefer Bristol as my 1st choice however I would happily go to other depots where there was vacancies. Not really an issue for me as I am single and living with my parents plus I already have experience of living away from my time working for First Midland Red in Worcester

This really does look promising! Someone got asked for a DOB last week (agreed, not the biggest headline) but shows they are finalising numbers for this years intake. Obv asked you your preferred depot so they can add you to the tally. I think Bristol would be a good choice. Seems a lot needed for both Reading and Bristol. Exciting times ahead!

I understand St Phillips Marsh hope to run a course in June then three more through to December. .. perhaps this includes Gloucester and Westbury intakes as don't they train initially at the Bristol training centre?

All of the "West" depots from Penzance to Gloucester do their classroom training at SPM.
