First Great Western Trainee drivers, Anyone heard back?

No - he made it very clear from the outset that he didnt work for FGW or First Group and that he was from the OPC (http://www.theopc.co.uk/content.jsp?c=otd) so had no specific information as to our recruitment process. He was just there to administer the tests.

he did say however that there were a LOT of applicants that had made it through to stage 1 - they would have finished grading by middle of next week and inform FGW and he 'presumed' that FGW would then make contact at the back end of next week.



There must have been a few guys from the forum there yesterday but sadly no-one that I spoke to!
Real mix of people though - making it clear to me that there certainly isnt a prospective driver 'type' and some of them had travelled MILES to be there - guys from Leicester and Southampton

If you pass your telephone interview the next stage will be the stage 1 assessment day.

that's to work at platform level.

If you are doing the same assessment as the train driver one it will be the new style assessments which consist of: the group bordon test(dots), glop test, dials test and a new test where you basically have to cross out symbols on a page while you listen out for tones which are played through a speaker. It's all straight forward and if you get invited to an assessment they will send out loads of info about the tests and show you how to practice for them.
