After years of contemplation, I finally dared the step and got a DJI Mini 5 Pro drone. Of course there is still a lot to learn about how to use it, but I think some scenes went alright. There is much more to explore with drone movements and shots closer to the ground. At the end, I also tried out the first time lapse.I definitely am not giving up ground-based photography and video, it will only be an addition on some occasions. On the Semmering there are still quite a few class 1144 electric locos to be encountered - as highlight I captured a train with 4 leading engines (one dead) - see video at minute 11:30 . Also, Westbahn has introduced their Vienna - Villach services via the newly built Koralmbahn highspeed line operated by Stadler SMILE EMUs capable of 250 kph (the same as SBB Giruno). Near Vienna, I have adopted Achau as a nice drone playground with the Innere Aspangbahn single diesel line crossing the Pottendorfer Linie recently renewed mainline.
