Hi All,

I just got two single virgin first class tickets (from EUS to Glasgow). It seems that I will stay in the train for more than 5 hours. Do you think I can get enough free food and drink on the train or I have to buy it? Do they have free internet access in the train? Thanks.

Virgin Trains offer free T-Mobile internet connection to First Class passengers so you should be ok there. I have not travelled EUS to Glasgow but I would assume that free drinks and food will be provided as they usually do for First Class passengers (don't know if it depends on the time of day travelled)

Are you travelling on a weekday or weekend? On a weekday, the Glasgow services leave Euston at 08:30 and 09:30, taking just four and a half hours.

If travelling on a weekday, you'll receive complimentary breakfast on departure from Euston. After Preston, a Scotish crew takes over and you'll receive the Light Bites menu from there, so effecitvely 2 food options for the whole journey. The drinks trolley should come round twice, after Preston and after Carlisle.

What day and time are you travelling?
If travelling at weekend I recommend buying food before travel, you won't have any problems with free drink and the food is very basic at weekends although you can still buy from the shop

If travelling midweek then you will be served with snacks between three and five times, and that is usually enough for most people
However I have seen some people refuse and eat their own food, as not everyone likes what they have to offer
