What is the light bites menu now? Still Sandwiches? I heard Risotto being mentioned elsewhere...

Risotto was part of a trial hot offer available on a limited number of services over summer, probably for VT to find out how popular the hot options would be if they introduced them, even if just on London-Preston/Scotland services.

My personal favourite was the Salmon Rigatoni. :D:D ;)

I'm a little confused about VT now changing the FC menus over on Wednesdays though..

Sorry to drag this one up again, but was hoping someone, more than likely Voyagerdude220, could shed some light on what the menu will be in first class on the 11.29 Pendolino service from Crewe to London Euston this Thursday (22nd October).

Cheers, CSK

Sorry i can't, although i can say that instead of just having 3 menus rotating in First Class, VT appear to now have 4.

I greatly enjoyed the Pie & Mash on Wednesday & think that the two different menus which i've seen so far, appear to be of a better quality compared to the ones offered over summer.

Enjoy your journey. :)

I second that opinion. Providing you don't get Penny (she rattles) then it's quiet and peaceful, the food and at-seat service is fantastic and it reminds you just how good rail travel can be

Never been on them, and I'm sure they are lovely (I even think the Voyagers aren't that bad)... but surely the window size and gaps are a problem.

I checked our seats when we booked, have got a window seat and we are really looking forward to our first trip on a Pendolino. To be honest I don't mind to much what the food is, we got the tickets cheap enough booking in adnvance, but it is always nice to know that you get good at-seat service.

For the record, we travelled Pendolino first class from Crewe to Euston, 22/10/09 and the menu Rotation 2 and consisted of.....

Breakfast
Fruit Juice
Cereal
Bakery basket

Great British Breakfast or
Vegetarian Breakfast or
Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Egg or
Fresh Fruit Bowl or
Hot Breakfast Roll

Light Bites
Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese Sandwich or
Free Range Double Egg and Cress Sandwich

to follow.......
Apricot Crumble Slice or
Season Fresh Fruit (Apple or Banana)

Evening Meal
Chicken Casserole or
Spiced Spinach Cakes with Penne Pasta Bake or
Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese Sandwich or
Free Range Double Egg and Cress Sandwich

to follow......
Sticky Toffee and Vanilla Custard Tart or
This Weeks Choice of Cheese and Biscuits
Season Fresh Fruit

Free drinks included hot drinks, juices, chilled soft drinks, beer, cider & stout, spirits or wines. The cider was Gaymers and the lager Cusquena.

Nice to see the free drinks not limited to just tea, coffee or water. I must admit I was very pleased with the first class service offered and will be looking to use the breakfast and evening service to after looking through the menu.
