First Class lounge at Brum New St

I was just wondering if it would be possible to buy a First class single from New St - International, just to use the 1st class lounge at New St, then go back to ticket desk for a refund of "unused" ticket? Anyone ever done this? Thanks.

I don't think this is possible if there's £10 admin fee for refunding the ticket? I think this is probably one of few reasons why there's £10 admin fee even if it doesn't cost them much to process your ticket.

Why get a first class ticket to International (£3.70 single) when you could get a cheaper first class ticket to Adderley Park (£2.60 single)?

Erm, no.

If you attempted to do something like this, it would be tantamount to fraud in my opinion. Whether you will be prosecuted is another matter.
