As much as I love this post, I must point out to Butts, it looks like you're in trouble now!

Yes there should be access to the roof by ladder and they should be forced to walk along the roof and back into 2nd class thus not sullying our peace and quiet

A ladder? They should just give each other leg-ups onto the roof, and then walk along holding the wires.

But if the noise from them walking along the roof disturbs me, can I claim compensation?

How could I forget my own station It is annoying in 'pleb' class at Darlington when you get off having to traipse so far to get to the gateline only to walk the same distance back in the direction you've just come from to get out of the station.

Mind you if you're in First on EC and get on or off at York you have to do exactly the same thing especially if you've parked in the long stay!
