Does anyone know why York, Norwich & Leeds new wright buses are in the “purple” electric livery yet Solent’s are in a blue “brand” livery? Is the purple one a generic one or is it the only livery going forward for electric buses, with Solent somehow being excluded? I would have thought that, especially with the Leeds ones, they would be in the Leeds City green livery.

I know First Leicester had their green Leicester Electric livery specified by Leicester City Council as part of the local partnership

Solent may have gone with their blue livery to allow for a standardised livery or it's been council specified like Leicester

Purple (as seen in York/Norwich) is the new corporate “electric” livery. Supposed to be a phase out of local liveries again, no doubt to be reversed back to local liveries preferred in about 2-5 years…

In Sheffield they haven't even finished repainting into the local livery. Loads of buses running around in the previous FirstGroup colours.

That said, it's not much of a concern in the grand scheme of things - in my experience, buses in Sheffield seem entirely incapable of running anything approaching an acceptable service, regardless of what colour they are!
