Why do they sometimes start tracking, and then disappear again? Surely that means it can be implemented permanently.

Does permission have to be given on an area by area basis, rather than a group wide decision? York, Manchester & Bristol have live tracking.
There is a legal obligation for First to provide it in England. The Scottish Government have not bothered to do this.

The tracking data that appeared for First Aberdeen was likely sourced through the award winning FirstBus App and therefor isn't open-source data. As of yet First Aberdeen and Glasgow are yet to include tracking in any open data sources such as the Bus Open Data Service (BODS) and its safe to assume probably won't until it becomes a legal requirement as it is in England.

I am pleased to announce that First Aberdeen Volvo B10BLE Wright Renown 629 (62164) Y629RSA has now entered preservation.

629 was new to First Aberdeen in 2001 for the Turquoise Line 19, renumbered to 62164 in 2003 she later spent time branded for the Pink Line 13. In August 2018 62164 was withdrawn from service at Aberdeen and after a brief stint on loan to First Glasgow she was converted in to a driver trainer for First Scotland East, 62164 transferred to McGill's as part of the sale of the Scotland East business being again renumbered to 2200.

It is our intention to eventually restore 629 back to original condition in Barbie livery with Turquoise Line 19 branding.

There are now tanks at the depot to fuel a small number of hydrogen buses but they are not operational yet I think. Unsure if the size required means that all the buses cannot be fuelled like this, or if planning permission is required, which would likely take some time. Plus it takes around 4 hours to generate a bus filled with hydrogen. Perhaps something more powerful is not appropriate for this type of setting. The tanks are currently classed as experimental.

There is currently a planning application going through for the hydrogen refuelling at the depot:-

Why is it that the Hydrogen Pumps keep failing? Like I thought they would have been fixed by now at least, because it feels like every couple of weeks, Glasgow sends two Enviro 300s up to help out the Aberdeen services (and Gemini 37539 has been on loan to them for a bit now).

Also, someone mentioned that Aberdeen were possibly going to get more Gemini buses (maybe from Leeds) on the First Glasgow chat. Any updates to this?:

Are 11106/8/9/10/13/14 the only Citaro artics still in regular service with a few withdrawn ones providing spares?

Yes, but 11109 is currently out of service and 11115 is not providing spare parts. 11109 had only recently returned to service after receiving parts from the withdrawn buses.

It had been due to go back to Glasgow but has been parked up in the corner at the junction of King Street / Mounthooly Way for the past month or so.
Guessing it broke down before it was due to go back to Glasgow with 37223 & 37748 then?

Anyway, 37469 is now up in Aberdeen on loan. It’s one of the former Manchester Geminis in the new livery.

469 is problematic so don’t really get why it was sent up!

I could of said the same things about 37223 & 37272 too, both buses had been out of Glasgow service for a bit (pretty sure 37272 had been out for a whole year) before getting set up to Aberdeen, and now are back working fine in Glasgow.

Don’t know what happened with 37223 in particular before going on loan to Aberdeen, but weird got its top glass frame replaced with 37187’s (which has the old Simplicty branding on it).

37539 is back in Glasgow now. Two more Gemini (former Manchester ones) have been sent up on loan now.

So that’s four Gemini, and two E300 now on loan from Glasgow to Aberdeen right now.

Manchester Geminis are long term loans, operating on First Aberdeen legals

So they’ll be on loan till they get replacement buses for Aberdeen, and when the Streetdecks can actually run in service?
The first thing to go when the replacements arrive will be the remaining Citaros.

Great news, hopefully they transfer some low height E400s back to Glasgow as the 6 is suffering badly with single deckers. Standing room only and people waiting for half an hour only for the bus to not stop as it is so full.
