BBC Radio Solent confirmed arrived today, and we heard from the Japanese gentleman i/c. How are they being unloaded on to the rail system? There seems to be little left of the Western Docks quayside track.

Aha! So they used the Ro-Ro car/truck/bus/crane/JCB terminal in the Eastern Docks, and then railed the cars on the line just before the QE2 Terminal.

Why seven weeks? Probably because the ship went every which way it could, picking up and dropping off.

Some machine there, looks good. I take it that's only a basic/promo livery, until a proper livery is decided when they start running normally?

Single leaf doors which are not at the end of the cars? Is it me or do the doors look thinner than others, seems like they are sliding doors to decrease dwelling times.

Other than that, nice trainset from the people who made my old TV :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought it was being used on the CTRL for fast services to Kent? In one of the papers there's a small article with a pic showing one of the cars being off loaded, & mentioned being used during the Olympics on fast services between St Pancras International & Startford International, albeit 7min of it?

It will be used during the olympics for the olympic shuttle, and the rest of the time for the North Kent services.

Like most cities which host the olympics, local commuter transport is disrupted during the olympics. because of this, many companies in Sydney gave staff flexi-time and holidays during the Olympics to reduce demand on the system and allow prioritising the Olympic services.
