Fire Damages Booking Office

A fire in the early hours of the morning has pretty much destroyed the booking office at Gloucester station -

Ore, Kearsley and Moses Gate booking offices were all arson-attacked and never replaced (a similar thing has happened at Chassen Road recently).

Eccles was the victim of an arson attack back in '71, being the original wood building it never stood a chance. It has only been replaced by a 'portacabin'. Guide Bridge has also been alight in recent years.

According to station staff at Cheltenham to boy arrested did it because [reason removed]!

I edited my previous post after comments had been changed, maybe I should have left it on... The person concerned has apparently been charged, which means that there is a danger that further comment about the incident itself will foul of strict liability contempt of court rules.

Just seen from the news story that any information should be sent to Gloucestershire police. Is there a reason the BTP are not investigating? They even have an office at Gloucester station!

Odd isn't it. If anyone is in the area and sees a BTP PC, do us a favour and ask them why.

It sounds ridiculous, but they'd probably be happy to answer, and chuffed that someone actually knows what the BTP is!

Is it because BTP don't have a Crime Scene Investigation Dept?

I know over here - there was some sort of incident at Salhouse station, Norfolk Police Constabulary were first on scene and BTP shortly followed from Norwich. As BTP didn't have any CSI Norfolk Police Constabulary provided this and AFAIAA lead the investigation.

Please correct me if I am wrong on any of the above points.
