Hello

I travel next week through Germany with FIP. Do I need to get a ticket or just get on the train. I ´ve got FIP Coupons and FIP Card. I read that I don´t have to pay anything with FIP coupons.

I would like to travel between Munich to Regensburg and RegensBurg to Nuremburg and Nuremberg to Munich and also Munich to Fussen.

These are some of the trains:

RE 4852 (munich-Regensburg),
> > Regensburg to Nuremberg: ICE 92Rostock Hbf ,
> > RE 4856 Regensburg to Nuremberg
> > Nuremberg to Munich ICE 621

Best regards,

You can just turn up and travel on most ICE trains with nothing more than a correctly dated FIP coupon, unless you are unlucky enough to pick a train on the list of restrictions available on the Rail Staff Travel website.

Back in the day there was a zuschlag (supplement) for IC, EC and ICE trains but that was abolished years ago. Different story in Austria though where a supplement has been introduced when using FIP coupons.

As is from a official source I think I take their word until such a time any mistakes are corrected.

Sorry if that comes across being stubborn!

Nothing now! My post was at 12.05, @Class 403 edited their post at 12.08 which completely changed the meaning of the first sentence of my original post. I’ve now changed mine to avoid further confusion :)

Ahh no worries sorry about my part in any confusion!

No harm done, we all survived :) Thanks for the apology.

Rail Staff Travel have done some excellent work recently updating and producing new documents such as the link you provided. Coupled with on line applications the whole process is simple. In my experience they are always friendly and helpful when you call too.
