Using my FIP for the first time. Intending on travelling Salzburg to Munich on 19th April, then Munich to Dresden on the 20th.
Firstly Salzburg to Munich, showing a “super sparpreis” ticket for €14,90. Is this an advance ticket as can only be used on the booked service. Would it be cheaper to book this than turn up on the day and buy a FIP ticket. Also as this crosses from Austria to Germany will that have any implications?
Same goes for the following day Munich to Dresden “super sparpeis” showing as €34,90 for the booked services. Would I be better off with advance ticket or FIP on the day.
Also to consider is seat reservations as I’m travelling with at least 2 others who will not be using FIP.
Thanks

1. (Super) Sparpreis fares are Advances in NR-speak. I assume that FIP fares are based on Flexpreis?
2. For 3 pax Munich Dresden travelling after 0900/at weekends the Quer Durchs Land ticket might be cost effective, using the scenic Hof Route rather than the High-speed lines via Erfurt.
3. Reservations in Germany are almost always bought separately (except in 1st).

Thanks for the reply.
Seeing as the sparpreis ticket is a quarter of the flexpreis (and fip only giving a 50% discount) am I right in thinking to not use the fip would be cheaper.
The quer durchs land ticket would come to €53 for 3 of us (half the price of the sparpreis for 3) however cannot seem to find much info. Generally rule seems to be cannot use ICE services. Will look into how long the journey would take without ICE as we have a flight at 23:05. But as we have all day to get there could make a stop along the way. Thank you for bringing this ticket to my attention
