FIP coupons Nice to Sanremo

Would anybody with experience be able to confirm that the use of French and Italian FIP coupons will be valid for travel between Nice and Sanremo via Ventimiglia on the French / Italian local trains?

If you use local/regional trains, you're fine. AFAIK, it's still SNCF on the French side and Trenitalia on the Italian side.
