FIP coupons Nice to Menton

Hi. Is anybody able to confirm if FIP coupons for rail staff are still valid for travel on the local trains which operate between Nice, Monaco and Menton? A colleague of mine recently mentioned that there was talk of validity on this being withdrawn. Thanks for any help.

The line is due to be privatised but not at the moment.

It's not yet known what will happen when it is privatised

Transdev SUD is due to takeover the TER Marseille to Ventimiglia services from 29th June, but late delivery of Omneo EMUs may push this back.

FIP Coupons will still be valid on the (limited) SNCF inOui (not Ouigo) TGV services.

As far as I know, Interrail will continue to be accepted. IIRC there was a website from the region confirming this but I'm not sure anymore where it was.

I don't think you can assume this as they are not yet operating.

Transdev should start on 29 June:

TransDev are taking over Marseille to Nice.
Nice to Menton will still be operated by SNCF and therefore FIP Coupons will continue to be valid.

Just done this route this week over a few days (Toulon -> Nice, Nice -> Menton, Menton -> Nice, Nice -> Marseille) and speaking to a Transdev/Zou! guard, they appear to be accepting FIP coupons for an indefinite amount of time, but have stopped accepting just FIP cards for discounts
