Finsbury Park - King's Cross double back

Just a quick query on this -- is this permitted? Not sure if I'm misunderstanding something basic but it seems to me that this is technically not permitted.

For example, if I have a ticket that's York - Finsbury Park (any permitted, Maltese cross), can I go YRK - KGX - FPK, or do I technically have to change at Peterborough / Stevenage? I can't see any easements that permit this, but it would seem entirely reasonable...

You need no easement. The yellow pages in the Routeing Guide includes the LONDON routing, which allows you to combine any permitted route between the origin and London Group, with any permitted route between London Group and the destination.

Oh really, and that overrides any prohibition on doubling back?

Yes, otherwise it defeats the point of LONDON routing in the yellow pages in many cases.
