What does anyone know about this project? All I know about is what I can see from the X5...

It occurs to me that the course of HS2 ploughs straight through the station with no regard for what's been set up there. I can't tell from the drawings if the new line actually goes through the site or just past it - can anyone clarify for me? Will the preservation site have to re-locate?

Is there any way I can move this to the main general topic forum? Because nobody's replying here!

HS2 will run exactly along the course of the old Great Central main line in the vicinity of Finmere, so the station site will be completely obliterated. The A4421 is also to be diverted across the middle of the station site as part of the HS2 works.

I wasn't aware that the old Finley station is being used for anything more than a storage location, and perhaps restoration site, for two former sandite/de-icing units, 930204 and 930206, and 73130. There seems to be scant information available on the internet as to what might be going on there.

The station area appears to be a storage site, not a preservation project in its own right and unlikely to be one in the future.
