Filtering unwanted forums/threads for my mental health

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum, but I can think of a better one.

Is there a way to hide particular forums, particularly from "New posts" type searches. I know there is the "watched" threads/forums functionality, but I'm looking for something a bit blunt/direct.

Why? I find the constant "I've bought a ticket using a railcard I don't have" and "short faring" type threads to be very wearing, so anything to hide these would help my mental health.
