I have, indeed, why they went to all the trouble (and cost) of bringing 103 all the way down from Glasgow(?) to shoot these scenes, when there has to have been a reasonably aged loco much closer (not sure if Midland Compound 1000 was still steamable in '64) - but if that was the reason the loco-caster should have got an Oscar.

Hayley Mills, aged 15?

All that long, blonde hair?

<Knees give way> <Collapses in a heap.>

End of working day.
Always found Hayley Mills watchable in absoloutely anything, she just lit up the screen. Saw her in something a couple of years ago and still looks amazing

‘Die Gentlemen bieten zur Kasse’ with Horst Tappert; it may have been a mini-series rather than a film. It is imaginatively translated into English as ‘The Great Train Robbery’. I have never seen it, but it is supposed to be pretty dire, at least as far as railway accuracy goes.

A correction to this: it also appears to have been translated as ‘The Great British Train Robbery’. It looks as though it was originally a three-part mini-series, but was later edited into a film.

While checking this I found a reference saying that it may be an extra on the ‘Robbery’ DVD. Not on mine it ain’t.

"Horton's Guide to Britain's Railways in Films" (Silver Link Pub., 2007) confirms this was originally shot for German TV in 1967. The company involved got permission to shoot on BR railway property without disclosing the exact subject of their film! There was no 'Warship' involved - but a German DB V200 diesel-hydraulic decorated with a BR 'lion and wheel' emblem on the side hauling continental coaches was used in the scene involving the false signal, the scene being filmed in Germany.
The train leaving 'Glasgow' was actually a Class 45 leaving St Pancras. There were swaps between this and single and double-headed Class 40s during the 'journey' plus shots of SR EMUs taken in the Folkstone area!

In the German version mentioned above which was shot in 1966 BR allowed the crew to film at the actual location and even provided a Sulzer Type 2 for the filming...

The Richard Burton film 'Villain' featured a few railway scenes at Acton Central, South Acton and near Willesden Sou' West Sidings which were shot in September 1970, with the finale being shot on the site of Nine Elms Loco Shed...

Bonus pointless trivia! - the Rover P5B Coupe used by Burton's firm was also used in two episodes of 'The Persuaders' and a 1972 ITV thirteen part series called 'Villains' starring Bob Hoskins, David Daker, Martin Shaw and Bryan Marshall.

I've seen the film on UK television, decades ago.
It's on Youtube, but in German. It was called (translated) to literally "The gentlemen ask you to pay"
I wouldnt mind watching it again in English just for the BR scenes, I do know a bit of German but I'm very rusty.
