Filming at Moorgate Station (03/05/25)

I was doing the "Moorgate Metropolitan Maze" Hidden London tour today (very good and would recommend by the way!) and whilst walking to the disused tracks we had to share the platform with a film crew.

They were filming something on an S-Stock train and, according to the tour guides, had been bringing it in and out of the station all day.

It looked very high budget with hundreds of extras, and some very impressive camera gear/computer set-ups on the train.

Walking out there were loads of vans parked at Finsbury Gardens with lots of camera gear around, I asked a staff member what was being filmed, they wouldn't tell me, but said it was for Amazon, so looks like we could see an S-Stock train as a star in a film in the near future.

Unsure if it was related but I saw some filming stuff involving a bus and some other bits I think on Fleet Street on Mother's Day, asked what it was but they couldn't disclose what it was. Coincidentally, I was also going to a Hidden London tour aswell! I can also agree that the Moorgate tour is amazing, or at least it was when I did it.

I'm not surprised none of the staff told you what they were filming. My son works in the film industry and he doesn't even tell me what he's working on... When they move stuff around the studio between sets, it's covered over so drone cameras can't get a peek. All very security conscious in that industry.

It's almost certainly "The Runner", the new Hack Ryan or the new Masters of the Universe they're filming. The use of multiple travel modes suggests the first of those three.

Kevin Macdonald’s ‘The Runner’ starring Gal Gadot begins UK shoot for Amazon

The film is the first from David Kosse's Rockwood Pictures.

Kevin Macdonald’s action thriller The Runner starring Gal Gadot has begun filming in London for Amazon MGM Studios.

David Kosse developed and produces the title via his new London-based production company Rockwood Pictures. The Runner marks the company’s first project in production.

Kosse was most recently head of international film at Netflix.

Rockwood has a development deal with Amazon Prime Video UK while the streamer also has international distribution for The Runner.

The Runner stars Gadot as a high-powered attorney who must race across London to save her abducted son. No other cast members are confirmed as of yet.

Also filming in London for Amazon is an untitled Jack Ryan feature and the superhero film Masters Of The Universe.
