. Not that I think you'd need one for iOS but it's there: https://www.avast.com/en-us/iosI've been reporting this for months, it occasionally gets fixed but then seems to come back.
It's nothing to do with Google, it's also affecting Twitter redirects and therefore people should stop sending people forum links via Twitter (including stopping@RailUKForums) until this is resolved permanently.

It's not a local virus, nor is it anything to do with cookies, it's a forum compromise.

Why should they come up with a technical fix to something that's not their problem nor their responsibility. It's a compromise to vBulletin (the forum software). It's not their platform to sort.
The only thing Google could do is to flag this forum in Chrome as one that has malware. As for ads, I've had them blocked for the last decade or so so I've no idea what they are like these days.

I seem to still get it every day. It comes up almost every time that you click on a link to this forum from Google.

If the fault lies with the forum why do I never see it when I use my bookmark to access the forum?
It's google's ad's. If they're not capable of running an advert business without sorting out their adverts, why are they even in the business.
Because it only happens when you get redirected to the site from another.

They are capable and it makes them a *lot* of money?
I do keep reporting the site as having malware to Google but all they'll do is add it to the warning list in Chrome and possibly blacklist the site from Adwords.
Why can't google control what's in their adverts ?
They don't verify each and every site that advertises and displays adverts, it's far too much hassle, they wait for people to report issues.
Well, you've been reporting the issues, why haven't they done anything ? This malware's been around for years, yet googles adverts seem to let it in again and again.

I did.
Google should be blocking the forum from advertising and also flagging it in Chrome though.

Sacro's right, it's the forum software, not Google, causing this issue. Annoyingly, vBulletin are doing nothing to help close the filestore72 loophole for older versions (you'll notice that pretty much every other forum running vB3 also intermittently has the same issue), and we have recently applied a patch which, whilst it helped temporarily, has not been a permanent fix.
We are still looking into solutions as a team (and have a solution in the medium term that we know will fix this
) but, bearing in mind we are all volunteers, this can take time (and the medium term change is bigger than just fixing filestore ). There's no risk (either in terms of personal data or your computer being infected) to visiting the forum, but we do appreciate that when clicking through from an external site (Google, Twitter etc) you may periodically see the filestore72 popup, though we do have a way of reactively fixing this whenever it comes up.
