Heard there was a problem today, Friday, with 1 of the Barton Hill based MK2 sets, is the Weymouth going to be loco hauled tomorrow, or unit's, any advice please, thanks.

It depends they could have sorted the problem with the stock, although couldn't they use the other rake from the 2nd loco hauled diagram?

T'was reported to be running with 67029 on WiltshireAvonGen this morning, so must be fine.

The last Weymouth loco hauled runs on Saturday. Of this year anyway, whether or not it will be the very last one we'll have to see.

Anyone know if there is plans to use a different loco for this Saturday? Like they did last year by using Class 37's.

Not sure but i did here that the sleeper from London Paddington tonight was going to be top and tailed with 57604 on the rear which would come off at Exeter before heading up to Bristol.

Havent heard any more news about this yet, but aparantly 67019 has been replaced by a class 66 on the taunton diagram today

I read in a magazine that next year it becomes DMU operated. (Makes a lot of sense!)

I finally copped Death for sight last Saturday. Looks a harmless enough chap, why seemingly everyone feels the need to bellow their lungs out at him I have no idea.

Still ain't got around to sorting out my phots/video yet, shall try to do so later. Got addicted to a game at the moment, so everything's on the sidelines!

Well it's not like he's out bullying people on the bash or owt like that, is it? If that was the case, then an almighty bellow might be due. From what I've seen, he enjoys his hobby and doesn't try acting like a moron boasting about how sad he is by having a zillion miles on the same route, day in day out. Or whatever.

Just tradition, no real other reason for myself. I have no problem with bellowing at him, when things go further than that is when I leave it out, but bellowing his nickname is just something I'll do.

He's a celebrity and must enjoy the limelight.

Ah, but it raises a smile amongst those of us who have good reason to bellow him.
I'm not the only one who can remember him delaying F&W railtours in the early-mid 80s because he 'had to have the last shot at the photo stop'. (Pete Watts nearly swallowed that whistle on many occasions!). Nor am I the first or last man to have been deliberately photographed by him for windowhanging. He's slapped people I used to travel with around the head for being in his way on the platform when he wants to get phots - particularly in the last days of Peaks down here in Devon. The antics of bashers from all the local type 4 fraternities; Hydraulics, Peaks, Spoons and Hoovers, have been legendary when he's about. PCP putting a plastic bag over his head and pointing like the grim reaper himself, yelling 'YOU!' at the man will stay with me forever, as will the usual vac crew putting on Mickey Mouse masks to taunt him back in '84. He even got a bellow from the East Lancs Champion crowd this year.

I bet he loves it really.
