You can actually download all their timetables from their website, and just print off the relevant pages!

Just like many other TOC's. The special FGW difference being that, the timetable will be very overcrowded, with many letters being forced to stand in the toilet. The letters will then suddenly get terminated, 12 pages away from their destination, and forced onto a replacement paragraph.

O well, it could be worse.. They could be stuck on an ex-FNW 142....

O, WAIT!!! THAT COULD ACTUALLY HAPPEN IN FUTURE!

Meanwhile, 2 weeks ago I travelled on 9 Voyager services and only failed to find a seat once.

And when you got the seat, the table was coffee stained, the reservation system was broke, the newspaper lights didn't work and there was a general bad pong?

Any/all of which, could happen on an HST though.

Table was stained= Long journies from one terminus to another.
Reservation was broke= If the paper ones on an HST had been deliberatley removed by another person wanting your seat for example, you couldn't really do much about it.

If however, the TM on the Voyager, had been able to fix the reservations, via the TMS, the reservations would be able to come back on quite quickly, but in any case, the passenger can't just remove the whole reservation screen from the Voyager!

Newspaper lights- Um... HSTs don't have them on FGW, although the GNER ones are just as un/realiable ....

Bad pong- Why don't you actually go to the toilet sometime during the day, and stop eating those disgusting pickled onion monster munch! ;)

No actually.

Good.

It seems like one group of RUK members are talking about Voyagers, and another group are talking about something far worse..

Whenever i've been on Voyagers, my only grumble is the crap FC, which i'm looking into, and considering using the carriage at the opposite end in future, if the difference is quite big, where there's no at seat service. (Or alternatively mix & match my tickets)

I have been travelling on Voyagers regularly for over 1 and a half years and only not found a seat once, during the floods. I occasionally see people standing though.

On many occasions (slightly less than half) - I don't have to sit next to anyone either.

I found some baby wipes in the tray table yesterday though!

1. You can't remove an electronic reservation, and last week when the system was broke, it could not be re-set
2. But none of the bulbs are being replaced to my knowledge
3a. I do, sometimes even on the first train of the day!
3b. What you suggesting, that I eat monster munch everytime I go on a Voyager!

Do you not though, in fairness normally use Bristol starters?

At least on HSTs the carriage is not like a freezer!

The majority of the time I go from Voyager, to HST, I always need a drink after a little while, simply because the Voyager was suitably cool, whilst the HST was very hot.

That's why yesterday I could have done with a jumper on a Voyager. I was also pleasantly greated with the smell of the bog - lovely!

Thought the smell more resembled a field full of cows!

FWIW, reservations on Voyagers can only be downloaded once during the journey - if they must be downloaded again Virgin Control has to be contacted for some obscure reason.
