This is my first post on here, so, firstly, hello to everyone.

Now I know that this is quite a specific post, but I have waited over 3 weeks to hear of an outcome from my, (what I thought) was a great interview with FGW for the role highlighted in my title.

As of today, I still have not heard any reply. And the role would start early May. If successful, I would have about 2 weeks to relocate and prepare for my new job...

The interviewers were really nice and friendly, and this was my 5th rail interview in as many months. I have not been successful with any of my previous attempts to work on the railways.

One of the interviewers took my passport away, and he also reworded the answers I gave, as the other interviewer was busy writing down the answers. Not that my answers were far off from what he said, in fact, they were good answers. Lots of key safety words, team work stuff and customer based stuff. He just went over my answers, slightly differently. Hardly at all really, but I have interviews where the interviewer said nothing. And I have rambled on due to their silence!

I have already gained TOC recognised qualifications as a Senior Conductor and a Station Assistant, (both with London Midland), and a Retail Service Manager qualification through Cross Country. I also gained a separate Conductor qualification with FGW in December of last year.

So, I need some advice. This is my first post on here, and I love the friendly advice that I often read on here. Basically, why has it taken so long? Is that a good thing? And with all your experiences, did my interview seem like it went well?

James
