FGW Sleeper- staff travel

Hey all,

I have a non-SG dependant priv and FGW staff travel pass. I need to get to London quite early for a flight- how does staff travel work on the Night Riviera sleeper?

Same as any other train for seated travel. Not sure about berths.

Last time i did the Night Riviera i just booked it at my local station. Think it was around £28 for sleeping accomodation & a dated box. You have FGW free pass so that should cover the journey.

Bzzzt. I think you'll find that, as with the Caledonian Sleepers, staff travel facilities are barred for seated accommodation on the Night Riviera, you have to book a berth (for the appropriate supplement if you get boxes) or inclusive ticket.

The FGW sleeper train is classed the same as day trains for travel in seated portion. The berths can be also used for PRIV travel by purchasing a FGW Sleeper Open ticket at usual 75% discount, however as stated in The Manual no. of these is limited so book early as possible - eg. I have booked for mid-July trip 2 weeks ago .

I think you'll find that only applies to the Scotrail sleeper.

to confirm for all staff pass holders for summer 2010 Only Scotrail Seated accommodation is barred from use (no change). FGW you can still use both seats and berths. http://www.atoc.org/clientfiles/File/RSTDocuments/NewArticles/Summer 2010 restrictions.pdf
