FGW Random Rolling Stock

I have noticed that one of FGW's timetabled slots has different rolling stock running on it every day. It comes from Southampton and goes to Great Malvern - leaves Worcester Fgt St at 16:18 (towards Malvern) and returns back at WOF at 17:02 (on way back to S'hampton).

Here is an example over a two week period (excluding weekends):
Monday: Class 153
Tuesday: 2 153s
Wednesday: 150/2
Thursday 150/2+153
Friday: 2 150/2s
Monday: 150/1
Tuesday: 153
Wednesday 153
Thursday: 2 153s+150/1
Friday: 158

Any suggestions as to why the stock keeps changing, I'm just puzzled, that's all

Probably one of these diagrams that should have a two car Class 150, but ends up with anything that is available (typical when availability is low)

It's booked for a Class 150, either a /1 or a /2. Until recently it was booked for a single Class 153, and it is still one of the first diagrams to have a Class 153 on instead of a Class 150. The Easter period meant many services were formed of different stock to usual as well.

It's been completely irregular (rolling stock) since the service started in January. I don't even use the service, it comes in 5 mins before my train - I'd have thought that it would deserve more than a single 153 as it's such a long route, when it's just the single 153 I've watched from the other platform at Forgate St. as people get chucked off as it's too busy!

No, it was a 2 car 158 in FGW livery. Number 1587...

It used to terminate at Worcester rather than running through to Great Malvern but it was still a long time on a 153, and very busy. That's why it should now be a Class 150. An Arriva 150 does make it to Great Malvern, on the 0823 Southampton Central-Great Malvern and 1251 Great Malvern-Weymouth.

In which case, something trundled through Platform 1 at Bath Spa under the Great Malvern 'information' with Arriva painted on it - or perhaps I was dreaming it!
