So I completed the quiz in regards to the new online application process for trainee train driver. Then completed the assessment test. Wow, I actually found that difficult. I tried, over and over to see if there was an easier way to do the test, but its mind bobbling. It feels like a round of group boredom but online. I can say messed it up and don't think I will be invited to assessment. :( However I might just keep optimistic as the testing process is new, so they may be even be trialling it?
Would I be right to say, as this was part of the application process and not the assessment centre then you can re-do it as many times as you like? (Usual 6month wait for that TOC)
Anyone else want to share their experiences?

I did this online test the other week, and I have to confess I struggled despite quite a bit of practice. I will try and keep optimistic but I'm not holding my breath, though personally I think it's a bit off to make someone wait so long if you had a failed an online test and didn't tell them that their application would not be progressed any further.

Not sure if the test is part of the assessment stage itself, but more of a way if reducing the amount of applications that FGW would have to process. That's only a guess of course, someone may know more about the reasoning behind it.

If I'd have to guess, I'd agree with that statement.

In the First Great Western thread now languishing in page 2, (here) I expressed what I thought of the new process. Essentially, I actually kind of enjoyed it. I got almost instantaneous pass/fail emails in response to finishing the tests and an assessment centre invite the week after. I was certainly on tenterhooks every time I received an email until then, though! A much speedier response than was indicated by other people's experiences, admittedly.
