Bit of a long shot but worth a go I guessed.

I normally make an effort of obtaining FGW and SWT's network timetables for purely collection purposes. However, I haven't been down on God's Wonderful * for a very long time now and as such haven't been able to get one for this timetable period. I'm looking at having a run out around the Thames Valley some time next week, and as such was wondering if:
(a) the timetable is still actually produced (FGW never made a mention of it online anyway etc);
(b) how likely I am to be able to obtain a copy 5 months into its validity.

Cheers

Well the timetable is definitely still produced, I have a copy. I'm not sure whether you'd be able to get a copy now. They're hard enough to get hold of in the first place and I'm not sure if they would just have been left at stations for this long. Always worth asking though. Reading stocks them normally and you never have to wait too long in the queue for the ticket office there. It can take them a little while to get a copy of the timetable out though.

Cheers. Yeah, I normally get it from Paddington if there's no queue, or Slough. I'll be at both those and Reading so I do have options. I am hoping that the secrecy of it and the cost means there's still some left, but like you say I don't know how long they keep them. I do remember the paperwork they had to get out to sell one though!

The stations that stock the books are Bath Spa, Bristol Parkway, Bristol Temple Meads, Cheltenham Spa, Exeter St David’s, Newbury, Oxford, Paddington, Penzance, Plymouth, Reading, Slough, Swindon, Taunton, Truro and Westbury. Posters promoting it have been put up in the booking hall at Oxford on occasion.

If you don't have any luck at the stations, then according to Barry Doe, the FGW customer services department can post one to you - again assuming they still have any stock of the December issue left - though you will have to pay postage on top - 08457 000125.

Thanks. Managed to get one today at Paddington - there was one left and the clerk who served me hadn't issued any since January apparently. Well worth £4, you could double it and I'd still be happy to pay.

I didn't realise these worth money. I discarded mine when I got it. Far to heavy to carry around for my job!
