Hi!

You know those Blue info points you get at most unstaffed FGW stations, and when you press them you hear a phone dialling then you hear some train info, what's the phone number?

Thanks,
Jim.

The system them goes [star]0600[star] and you can enter the first 4 digits of the NLC followed by [star].

For example, try 2467[star].

Arriva ones work fine for me, I've just tried it. Some stations which have had their systems removed and replaced with a more advanced version (eg. on Severn Beach line) no longer seem to work. I don't know what FGW stations still have these, so are unable to test.

Call 08702410415.

Then enter the national location code of the station you're enquiring about, followed by [star] - (the * button).

Whats the exact number I should enter?
0870 241 0415. Wait for the system to answer and respond with its 6 tones and then enter the first 4 digits of the NLC followed by the star button.
And what does [star] mean?
It's a button on your telephone, next to the number 0.

Sounds like the Northern info points. I used one a few weeks ago at Batley and was a bit annoyed to find that they don't go through to Northern control who might have had some idea where my non-appeared train. All I wanted to know was if it was late or cancelled, but the operator didn't even know where Batley was. It didn't help that the line was appalling and we could hardly hear each other.
