In the '90s Great Western ran HSTs into Waterloo as Eurostar feeder services. I think they used the mainline platform closest to the International terminal, which I believe is 18, but the services were cut due to low patronage. In those days the Railtrack boards outside the station promoted services from Stagecoach SWT, Great Western and (IIRC) Wales & West. I think it was normal to see a HST set in a mix Intercity and Great Western green and ivory. I can't remember if the service lasted into the First Great Western green and gold or pink eras.

Are they going to be using the former international platform?

As SWT will be running a Saturday service there will be enough capacity, as per previous arrangements when FGW have used the Windsor lines platforms.

And don't forget the two Slough blockades of recent years, when FGW sent the WofE services to/from Waterloo via Ascot.

And of course the Southall accident, when, with a few hours notices (this would never happen now), some GW services were diverted to Waterloo. I was more than surprised when standing on the platform at Richmond to see an HST going through!

There was a service from Bristol, a service from - IIRC - Manchester and for a little whle the PZ sleeper used Waterloo. All in and out of 19.
