I took delivery of this goodie bag/box this morning. A nice gesture from First Great Western. Enclosed card reads:

"We're sorry your planned trip on the Night Riviera Sleeper has been affected by the recent floods. As a thank you for bearing with us, here is a little goodie bag for you to enjoy on your next trip with us.

We promise to get the full service up and running soon ...

I hope you enjoy your gift. we can't wait to welcome you back on board again soon.

Thank you for your continued patience."

Box contains shampoo, conditioner, body wash and chocolates.

Good gesture from them since they didnt really need to do anything more than offer a refund !!

I was booked in the sleeper at the end of February which obviously didn't happen because of the sea wall collapse.

My ticket was booked through the East Coast travel centre in Stevenage who promptly arranged a full refund. A few days later FGW phoned me to confirm my address as they wanted to send me a complimentary anytime return ticket for use anywhere on their network!

Well done FGW!
