FGW Delay Repay

We have just returned from Cornwall and were delayed on the 10.40 am Truro to London Paddington train. Is there a way to find out what time the train actually arrived in London, before I put a claim in? Also do each if us (2 adults and 2 children) have to claim separately or can all the ticket claim go on one form?

I'm fairly sure you can combine the 4 claims together, just make sure it is very clear you are claiming for a group.

FGW don't do Delay Repay. They do offer delay compensation where the delay reason was within the rail industry's control. What caused the delay? Did you hold single or return tickets?

We had advance singles from Falmouth to Aylesbury. We were told to get off the train at Taunton and board another one as the one we were on had developed a fault and was taken out of service.

We arrived at our final destination (Aylesbury) 1 hr later than the original itinerary.

Was AWS fault so sets were swapped at Taunton, so definitely the fault of the TOC so you should get something

Yes, that's a valid claim.

The original itinerary would have had you arriving at 1708?

You'd normally have easily made the 1642 from Marylebone to make up time and only been half an hour late, as normally that'd be a really easy connection, but I'm guessing the exit only status of the tube platforms at Paddington scuppered that!

Not a good day for FGW. A down service failed at Taunton at almost the same time and ended up 77 late, and terminated at Plymouth.
Truro staff were doing well organising taxis for people for the cancelled service from Truro to Plymouth at 1332 when I was at Truro.
