FGW buffet cars- a slightly different question

I've noticed that many of the FGW buffet cars have different interiors...

So far I've travelled in- Refurbished with leather seats, unrefurbished FGW with green seats and unrefurbished MML Rio with brown seats. However tonight I travelled in one that appeared to have the MML Rio brown walls, but with FGW green seats. Can anyone shed any light onto the history of this coach?

I believe FGW wanted to acquire more buffet cars for the summer seasons, and as such they have been taken from all over the place. That's my assumption anyway. I may be totally wrong.

Yeh, thats wrong.

I'm fairly sure what FGW is doing with their buffets has been discussed previously. I'm not going to repeat myself.

Sorry for late reply here! But just got the Gen; The one with Rio walls and green seats also has the vestibule area painted in re-fresh colours and has a refresh style carpet. It's 40811 which was acquired as an additional buffet ex NXEC. When FGW took it, the seat covers and carpets were so worn they needed replacing, which was done at Laira before it entered service (together with a re-paint into Dynamic Lines from NXEC). The vestibules were also in the original HST Bright Yellow colour, and so they were treated to a coat of re-fresh colours.
