I doubt it will be a regular occurence, First did make it clear none would be venturing further than Newton Abbot or Plymouth, so why one has ventured into Cornwall I don't know. May be just for operating reasons.

Well, it's happened.

The 142 "Pacer", "Bendy Bus" and my favourite word "**** Excuse for a Train" has entered full-time work on the Tarka/Advocet line, which generally is Exmouth - Barnstaple, and Exeter - Barnstaple.

I catch the train from Yeoford, and, I was quite happy to be travelling on a Pacer when it first came into frequent service, but, they are so slow! The acceleration? I could go faster riding a slug, and door problems are ever frequent.

Waiting for my fortnightly Friday-night service to Westbury the other night at St Davids, with many flooding delays and points failures, and much stock movement, a Pacer arrived from Paignton on P6, with front lights not working, instead, a flash-torch! Made the engineers laugh :)

Whilst we're on FGW's regional fleet, what's with the Silverlink-liveried 15 set?
Any info guys?

Oh, and, while I'm here, I saw the famous Freightliner-operated "POLICE" 47 the other day approaching St Davids from Plymouth direction with a mixture of Mk1 coaches and a Hanson 59 on the back. However, I don't think anyone reported it in their books - myself, I'm not a trainspotter, just an interest, so this explains my frequent lack of knowlege about things - dad's an engineer lol :)

Well, I'm not going to lie and say I swear to God I saw it, in fact, I was walking over the bridge walkway when I saw it coming through, I'm sure it was the Police one; is there anything similar I might have mistaken it for?

150121 transferred from Willesden on 16 Nov '07, 150127 transferred on 12 Nov '07, both based at Bristol SPM. Only the 2 units have being transferred, no others planned. AFAIK, the units are not covering certain areas, so could be seen anywhere along the south west down to Devon & Cornwall. Hope this helps.

One of the 150/1s is today on ....

1230 CDF - PMH
1622 PMH - CDF
2030 CDF - PMH

Should end up at Fratton but I suspect a unit swap at BRI will take place...

Possibly, not many locos are white though, only operational white 47 I can think of is 47832, but that's grounded due to lack of OTMR. Plus there's the Mark 1s and Hanson 59 to account for!

bus seats? like Prison DEATH ROW CELL SEATS!

By the way, speaking of Bristol SPM, my dad [working for Scot Wilson], who was recently dealing with signalling at the depot, was on the line with some colleagues, when a group of youths began throwing rocks at them, apparently they've been doing some to the windows of cabs on HST's, having smashed the windscreen once, cracking it many times, and in most cases, severely scratching it, these little sh*tes could be put away for 2 years if they are caught..

As far as I know nothing even remotely similar ran yesterday

do you like monitor everything that goes through? It seems an ant couldn't cross the line without you knowing.

No but if something like that had happened someome would have seen it and reported it to the various gen groups.
