There’s some detail photos of the panel here. Quite an interesting location, with a varied mix of passenger and freight traffic, although obviously nowhere near as busy as it would’ve been before coal traffic collapsed.

Thanks Tom, i appreciate the link. Great to get a peak of the inside! Do you know if it is only one signal box in Ferrybridge at the moment?

The area was resignalled a few years back, not sure of the details. It's adjacent to Ferrybridge South Jn where the single track towards Pontefract Monkhill goes off, and looks nothing like a signalbox apparently!

These photos might give you a better idea than the ones Tomnick found earlier.
If you are looking at working there, though, a post in the Railway Jobs & Careers forum might help. (Sorry, I see you already have!)

Thanks 30907. Great to see a photo of the place. It looks huge! I’ve been offered a job at Ferrybridge so I’m just trying to find out more about it. I am not local (relocating) so I’m not familiar with the place at all. I appreciate your help.

They gave a Grade 6 job, without you even going to look at the job in question? How times have changed.

I do not disagree with your general point but bear in mind non-essential visits to signalling locations have been banned since February.

Ferrybridge signallers have a good relationship with freight always get us out early and try to cater as best as they can when running light engine. I haven't a bad word to say about Ferrybridge panels 1 or 2

I didn’t realise it was grade 6. I apologise for my ignorance. I mentioned above I am unfamiliar with the location and due to the pandemic I am not able to go and see/learn for myself which I would love to do.

I didn’t apply for Ferrybridge but general opportunities in the NE and this is what I have been allocated. Therefore I am trying to prepare myself as much as I can beforehand. I am well aware I am going to have to work very hard and I am dedicated to doing this. I am grateful for the opportunity and I appreciate your insight.
