In 3 minutes on the National Rail Enquiries website I've come across three interesting things about FCC services on the Thameslink route.

1. An on-peak fare seems to be 10 quid. Have fares gone down or is the site broken?
2. They seem to have a discount card for some students ( First Capital Connect Student Connect card ) but it doesn't say what the discounts are or where the 'specified area' is.
3. The link to the terms and conditions goes to those for the site.

I think I now know what that driver meant when he called the company a joke.

I think it would be useful to know the journey you're talking about - where to and from?

Google is your friend. You get 1/3 off, valid in zones A and B.

3. The link to the terms and conditions goes to those for the site.

The links at the bottom of the page are the same on all pages which is why it's for the site. The T&Cs for Student Connect are here - you have to click through to the 'apply' page.

Thanks for highlighting the broken links from FCC's website. I've had a look on their site and managed to find the new links and have updated the promotion.

I thought NRE Lisa was a machine?

Who is LISA?
LISA is a state of the art virtual assistant - known as a 'Linguabot' - and is here 24-hours a day, seven days a week to help you. Working for National Rail Enquiries, she knows a great deal about travelling by train – from helping you choose the best ticket for your journey, to telling you about what facilities are available at your local railway station...

Can this really be her - or should that be it? :D

Never know until it is confirmed. We do have someone from London Midland on the forums and he seems kosher.

Sorry, St Albans to St Pancras. Blonde moment.

The T&Cs link was in the text of the page, not the ones at the bottom. In the Details section @ http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/times_fares/promotions/pr5c1f4d3d674c90a76664f857b475c8/details.html . Now fixed, just as NRE Lisa says.

In that case I feel I should apologise for some of the crude questions I may have asked you in the past

I've had many intresting chats with Lisa after a night down the pub.

NRE_Lisa = NRE NRE = ATOC ATOC = Spies on RailUK!

It's a known fact that ATOC lurk around, though in what guise I do not know.

If it is NRE Lisa then it's nice to be able to enter into dialog with National Rail.
