Hi all, Wonder if any of you good people can help, my lad has just been invited to a Shunters Assessment with FCC. Doesnt appear to be the normal Psychometrics, if indeed they use them for this role (i was a driver) and like anyone else he really wants to give it his best shot. No practice materials supplied but he has said that tests will include situational and team exercises and a group activity. As he is not sure how to prepare i hope someone can help and offer some advice, thanksalot.

Hi, how did your lad get on with the assessment for the shunters role, did he get the job?

Hi mate, thanks for asking. Well he took the tests but alas didn't get the job (though he passed the tests) then applied for the same position with FGW, went through all the same process again and was lucky enough to get that one! He started last Monday so a very happy Bunny like his dad.:D

Fantastic news, well done to him! i used to be a shunter, when your starting out there always seems to be alot going on. But my tip to him ALWAYS be polite to drivers have a laugh and joke with them and show them you take your job seriously. I am not driver by the way.
