Just asking on behalf of a friend who has a seet of 5 of these tickets.

Are there any morning time restrictions on the use of these tickets? They are looking to travel out on the 08:15 Kings Cross to Cambridge on Monday. Another day, she is looking to do a return Peterborough to Bedford. Given there are barriers at Peterborough (manual), Kings Cross, St Pancras and Bedford, are most barrier staff aware of the validity of these cards?

No time restrictions are attached. And yes, the barrier staff are familiar with them so there should be no problems.

I've made three journeys on FCC using the free tickets so far, on lines to Bedford, Kings Lynn and Peterborough. Only once have I seen a RPI (Kings Lynn), about half the stations I stopped off at were open, no on board train conductors of course, and even at Kings Cross and St Pancras the ticket was just glanced at with no real check.

I know the FCC RPIs are sometimes criticised here for being confrontational but even so fare evasion must be rife. So different to Arriva Trains Wales where the conductors usually walk through between every stop (and in my experience are never less than courteous).

I very much doubt it. Even if the coach is liveried in FCC, you might struggle to convince the driver that is is valid.

As an aside, can a 6 year old child use one of these scratchcards? The conditions don't state that they're only valid for adults. A friend is looking to use it later this week and this comes in handy if travelling from the Midlands with EMT to London.

I've used one of these scratchcards on the bus to Luton Airport with no problem. I just put 'Luton Airport' as the destination, and the ticket man didn't bat an eyelid. May not work for everyone, but did for me.
