Two Together Railcard held

Want to do the above route, Atherton branch outbound, with a stop off at Piccadilly for Ian Allan and Sheffield for a beer or two.

So far looked at a

Fazakerley-Manchester rtn £15.80 and a Manchester-Barnsley rtn via Sheffield £25.00
with a zero fare excess to return via Huddersfield.

Anyone do it cheaper?

Is this all going to be done in one day? If so the South Pennines Day Ranger would do the Manchester - Sheffield - Penistone part (as well as Huddersfield) .

It's 22 quid each at the moment. Don't know the prices with a 2 Together as in phone at moment
