And an absolute mecca on a Summer Saturday morning.

Yes, you have reminded me, I recall double headed 20s on Mk1 coaches, that was 1979-1980 iirc. I used to try and get some very long days on New street.

If i said what im about to say 2 years ago, you wud have me committed...

Spalding... and surrounding area.

If freights youre thing, we now have at least 8 regular freight workings on most weekdays. Tugged by GBRf, DB and Freightliner. Occasionally DRS and Colas.

2 more Freightliner workings running between Felixstowe and Doncaster have just been added and theres scope for more. Due to this, places like Frinkley Lane on the ECML miss out on some freight now.

I agree 100% - in fact, I added a new Spalding timetable (and realtime map)
to Freightmaster Online a few months ago to cover this new 'hotspot'!!

Leyland station: Brand new footbridges, 125mph through platforms, wcml trains. Pretty decent.

Like it because of the speed them trains go through, the 319's stop there and of course, pacers. There's also sprinters and lots of frieght. Long straight track on the approach so you can see the trains coming from miles off. It's great!
