If you were a bus operator what EV vehicle would you opt for in terms of comfort, drive, range etc.?

I wouldn't have enough confidence in the longer term longevity of any product right now to invest the additional capital and would continue to buy e6 diesel whilst I still could.

Yutong E10/E12 and the Wright Kite & Streetdeck Hydroliners. I was also quite impressed by the Streetdeck Electroliner when Stagecoach here had it on demo.

Based on current UK availability, the Yutong E10/E12.
Having been on some of the Cardiff Bus E12 fleet and noticed how smooth the ride tends to be I will second that. Some of the drivers there seem to like them too: I spoke to one in December last year who said the E12s were great vehicles to drive.

The Yutong E10/E12s are by far the best electric buses I've been a passenger on so far although it's only been them or the E200EVs and E400EVs I've used. The E200EVs and E400EVs seem very poor and poorly laid out compared to the Yutongs.

Yutongs for me too. Nice to be a passenger on, and the drivers i've spoken to speak highly of them

I saw the thread title and my answer was the Designline. That was a nice piece of kit.

I then saw the thread and changed my mind, as no operator would ever want one of those.

Youtong E12 for me too. I first tried them on the Glasgow to Dundee service operated by Ember. They can do a complete circuit before recharging. Having just come back from from Inverness yesterday I see Stagecoach have loads of them running round the town, routes 1, 2, 5 & 6 were the ones I saw. I had to go to the bus station before seeing anything diesel!

I said in my previous post in this thread that the Yutong E10/E12 are favourites of mine. They still are and I will add to that the current (not new) version of the ADL Enviro400 EV as another favourite for me. I haven't been on any other electric buses.

No votes for Optare/Switch, AD or Mellor Sigma?
I think the Mellor Sigma is still new enough for people not to have experienced them yet, although they are now out in the wild. Shuttle Buses have just taken delivery of two, I believe. Coach and Bus Week has done a feature on them this week, but it's paywalled.

The existing Optare/Switch and Alexander Dennis products are pretty outdated and subpar compared to the other products on the market while the new generation Enviro EVs are still quite a while away from hitting full scale production for the UK market.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the VDL Citea SLF/SLFA, probably the most common electric bus on this continent.

I did give a vote to the ADL Enviro400 EV (albeit not the newer version as I haven't get been on one) but I haven't tried other ADL electric buses. Not have I tried Optare and Mellor buses.

Anyone got any thoughts on the BZL and how they’re holding up in terms of range etc?

Are they superior the the BYD offering?

My employer runs a Yutong TCe12 coach and like many others, we’ve found it a great vehicle that works straight out of the box and reliability seems to have been good so far!

From passenger trips on the E10 bus in Leeds & Gateshead they’re decent from a passenger point of view too.

I've just done a trip on the new TFW electric buses between Pencader and Lampeter.
Despite the plush seats, the ride is very harsh and is accompanied by a myriad of rattles.
The ride, therefore, is no better than the previous diesel buses.
Very disappointing.
