I also quite like York.

It's a very picturesque city, loads to do, both from a shopping and tourism/sight seeing point of view.

Plus theres the trains; the model railway museum, the station and the NRM within a stones throw of each other - Win! :D

For a city, it isn't bad, and that's high praise coming from a countryman like me. It also has a very interesting history, where Romans, Vikings and Normans are greatly involved long before anyone ever built a railway.
