So am I, although I was stuck on the M40 this morning due to a few crashes probably caused by the high winds shaking cars around. Mind you, I have never been in a train at high speed when the wind has been really bad.

sorry mate, took the station announcer at her word, they were advising people going to london to travel via leicester, they actually sent 029 on shortly after i posted, then another came tanking through before some while later they put the next one on platform 5, the freight was being sent through the middle at this point, unfortunatly i had to leave with the pendo still sat there about 4 45, just had time to see 86501 heading north,no idea which working it was though

Glad I travelled on the 0700 from Manchester this morning!

This seems to have caused widespread chaos at Euston from about 15:30 onwards, and many trains have taken in excess of two hours to reach Euston for a few hours. A normal fatality is resolved within two hours but this seems to have lasted far longer.

Any more details on exactly what happened and why it took so long to resolve?

I think it's also down to the nature of the WCML; any delays screws it up for hours. I wouldn't be surprised if its not back to normal till Sunday...

That's funny! I jolly well hope it's ok by Friday, otherwise my trip to Birmingham International is screwed and I'll have to end up using a Voyager from Reading .

Was anybody caught up in the mess today? From past experiences, whenever there is disruption, the trong of people on the Euston concourse wait for no info whatsoever from the PA.

That bloody PA at Euston drives me up the wall - specially when waiting for North Wales Voyagers when I *know* what platform its in as theres only 1 Voyager there at 10 minutes til departure!

But isnt that because it doesnt arrive til xx.40 & they're trying to clean/service it. Pretty hard to do when passengers keep getting in the way.

Not everyone knows that the only Voyager in Euston goes to North Wales....

Not all London Euston Super Voyagers are going to Chester/North Wales either, the 14:30 Euston to Lancaster is booked for a Super Voyager Mon-Thurs. (13:33 Euston to Lancaster Friday Only)

Ive never had a situation with one Voyager and it doesn't go to North Wales at 10 minutes to departure... With Voyagers they tend to have two of them on a platform, which normally I have found so far is 14 or 15.

Mind you - I only take the Voyagers occasionally for last minute trips where I need a cheap fare - maybe been on that route with the Voyager 10 times? Much prefer a Pendo

I hate the PA as well, its very irritating! Non stop!!! I also miss the old ding dong! It was iconic of euston!

Going back to the fatality, my sympathies to the driver and family involved. Seems it took so long to recover as the person (a 20 something female, how tragic) fell under the Wolverhampton train and also then a London Midland train at Harrow.

The Harrow area seems to be notorious for fatalities at the moment.
