A MAN died after being struck by an express train on Anglesey.

Paramedics, North Wales Police and British Transport Police (BTP) were called to Ty Croes station on Saturday night.

But he was declared dead at the scene. There are no suspicious circumstances.

A BTP spokesman said officers were called at 9.25pm to a report that a person had been struck by the 5.08pm Birmingham International to Holyhead train near Ty Croes railway station.

Emergency services personnel attended and found the body of a man. He was declared dead at the scene.

The BTP spokesman said a file will be sent to HM Coroner.

After the incident both tracks were closed until 12.12am on Sunday morning
