Not good for the Birmingham Area tonight.

Fatality at Bomsgrove eaelier. Lots of delays, and many trains going via Cradley heath and Smethwick

Thoughts with the driver and the family of the casualty

As a result, XC is up the wall

Looking back, there were two in the area today, one at Bourneville and the One at Bomsgrove

The person hit has sadly died.

Very bad day today, the one at Bournville was apparently very nasty. Thoughts are with everyone involved in both incidents.

Unfortunately there are now reports of another person hit by a train at Mill Hill. There was a "one-under" yesterday (29/09) at Arsenal Tube, I believe, but I am told the victim was recovered alive thanks to the excellent intervention of a BTP Medic (and no doubt others). I am very sorry as always to hear of such things, whether or not they are fatal, as most casualties will not have lucky escapes from death/serious injury.

The fatality at Bromsgrove involved a DBS Beeston - Cardiff Tidal service. From what I could gather where the train stopped the rear of the train was fouling the main line so until BTP authorised the train to move nothing could move.
