Transport police are investigating after a man was found dead on the railway line this morning.

British Transport Police say that he was found lying across the electric traction current in the Godinton Park area of Ashford.

The rail line towards Godinton Park, Ashford, from the Chart Leacon railway bridge.

Officers were called out just before 8.20am and the incident was also attended by Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service.

A BTP spokesman said: “The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“British Transport Police are currently working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident, which is currently being treated as unexplained.”

Interestingly ITV Meridian have pointed to HS1 on their map of the incident location.
