This may sound a bit distasteful but what actually happens when somebody decides to jump in front of a train? Elstree is my local station and those trains really do thunder past.. Would the speed of the train drag the body underneath the train? would it be enough to possibly derail the train or would it simply be crushed?

Well I believe the speed limit through the tunnel is 110mph, so i'd imagine it wouldn't be different or far off.

When a person is hit by a train the force is so great the body basically explodes and parts are flung far and wide. Most people usually lose control of their bowls too. It's unlikely a train would derail.
