Farringdon NR platforms

Why is it that the National Rail platforms at Farringdon have the LU Roundel signage rather than FCC? Is it just because they are owned by LU or something?

Indeed, because the whole station is managed by LUL. At those managed by TOCs, the LUL signs are on the LUL platforms only, with the TOC signs on the NR platforms / around the station building.

There are other set ups - it is not consistent everwhere.

Some stations managed by TOCs have TOC signage on LU platforms. Richmond and Wimbledon for instance...

All the City Widened Lines platforms: Moorgate, Barbican, Farringdon and also the old Kings Cross CWL platforms have or had LU roundels. York Road platform on the Up CWL [or Kings Cross Suburban on the Down] of course had BR totems or later signage.

Aye, LUL took over all of the Overground / Bakerloo line stations after Silverlink ended. From what I can tell though, nothing much has changed - it still has blanked out Silverlink nameplates on the WCML platforms!

When Kings cross (Midland city) became Kings cross Thameslink, the LUL roundels were removed, and BR standard signs installed in their place.

Of course, another station with NR symbols on the LUL platform is Kensington Olympia.

To be precise (and pedantic!), Kings Cross Midland City always had BR signage, not LT, from when it opened in the early 80s, and it wasn't when it became Thameslink in 1988 that it changed.

The signage at that location was LT until the old Kings Cross (relic of the original Met station) closed in the late 70s when the diesel service to Moorgate was suspended for the electrification works. That incarnation of the station was described by someone (forget who) as looking 'like it had been closed in 1939 but someone forgot to tell the LMS'!
